Randy, This is in response to your request for a comparison of our old fuel oil furnace and our new heat pump system you installed for us in October 2005. Over the past 10 years we used on average 500 gallons of fuel oil per year to heat our home. After the installation of the new heat pump we have averaged $40.00 per month. We are supplied electricity through Black Hills Electric Co-Op and pay 3.5 cents per KWH for the heating electricity. I have been impressed with the attention to detail all your staff have exhibited from the bidding process through installation of the three mini-splits in our cabin. Lee did a wonderful job installing the mini splits and explaining how the units operate. Also, Lee did a great job mounting the inside evaporators and mounting the line sets on the log walls. Kassie had the units registered the day after the installation was complete. Finally, I have been impressed by your company’s willingness to answer all my questions about the Mitsubishi units. I value companies, such as Viking Mechanical, that deliver a bid and show to install equipment or complete service on the dates promised. Although, I have not had a chance to test the heating capability of the mini-splits, I would highly recommend Viking Mechanical to anyone considering a Mitsubishi mini-split system.

They were like ants in a syrup jar as they steadily worked removing our old furnace and installed the new one. Everyone was polite, careful in my cluttered porcelain studio, and never did I hear an unkind word as often heard with construction workers on a job. They fitted us into their schedule and came two days earlier than their original estimate. They investigated, reported to us, we gave the go ahead to repair. Things couldn't have gone smoother. Randy was very thorough in examining what needed to be done to complete the work. He informed me of his expectations and discussed possible concerns. Once I accepted his quote, he immediately ordered the materials and had his installer call to set up an installation date. Unfortunately, for the installers, they had to put the unit in on the hottest day of the summer. They started on time as promised. They were professional and neat and tidy in their work. They left the work areas, inside and outside, clean and as they had found them. Everything works great and my home is very comfortable now. Heating service on a 100+ year old house that we rent out was not working. The first time it was a heat sensitive switch the second time it was a blown out pilot light. When the heat was out in our rental I had Viking Mechanical referred to me by a co-worker and friend. Called and although they were booked up they added the house on at the end of the day. This was right at the first cold snap of the winter and temperatures that weekend were slated to drop to the teens with high winds. So on a Friday they went and did the repairs and did not even charge extra for after hours or for an emergency.That Sunday the heat went out again. Based on the high winds Viking Mechanical recommended I check the pilot light before they made a call. The pilot light was out but I could not get it to stay lit. I called him back and he stopped by after his last call, started thepilot light and then called me to let me know that it had to be held down for a minute or more to heat up the fail safe switch before it would remain on. He did not even charge me for this call.I came away feeling like I had gotten old fashioned personal and thoughtful service at a good price the first time and a fantastic price, free, the second. Ask Randy to come by my house and look at the ducting under my house because I wasn't getting enough heat in the back bedroom. He told me to email him when it was a Good time to stop by. I send a email on a Friday saying that Monday would Be a good day. He called me later that day and said he would be by at 9:30 on Monday . He arrived on time and spend a good 1/2 hour under my House looking things over. He told me that having the flex ducting replaced would make The difference of night and day and help my furnace run better . Two days Later he called with a estaminet and told me if I wanted it done to let him Know. I told him that I did want it done and he said he would get me on the books. The following Thursday he called and said he could get it done the following Monday. It was done in a timely manner and 6 dollars under budget!!!
